TESTIMONY

On the Danish version of this blog, I investigated the phenomenon "testimony", I knew that it played a huge role in the church, because I heard it all the time, but I didn't fully understand it. One of the key things an anthropologist has to do, is understanding the words and their uses of the culture they are trying to write about. I've come a little closer to understanding it since then, but I would like to hear your explanation of the word as well. This is what I think I know so far:

- A testimony is the thing that makes you certain that the church is true, it is stronger than faith and believing in something, but through faith you can eventually get a testimony.

- There are different "testimonies", both a "big one" that is the one you share, when you are invited to speak of your thoughts about the church being true, and other "small ones" about different "bits", this I'm still not sure I understand.

- You can "work" on your testimony and assemble it bit by bit, or you can receive it through an inspired thought, in prayer or maybe in another way?

Please share your explanation if you like
